Agr iculture as China’s first industry, it is an important guarantee for the sustainable developm ent of China’s economy. As mankind indispensable foods, grains is the basis of the foundation. But our country since the beginning of the 1990 s, farmers engaging in agricultural production are difficult to reach purpose of increasing revenue, which has a signif icant impact on China’s economic and polit ical environment, thus ensuring farmers’ income increase has become an important issue in China. Governments adopted implementat ions of the new varieties protection system since 1997, ac hieving good results particularly in promoting agricultural technology innovat ion and protecting agricultural achievements. The new breed technology development and promotion have played a crucial role of agricultural production and farmers’ income, this article studys the factors affecting farmers’ selection of new varieties in the perspective of farmers.Based on the actual investigation and empirical analysis methods, According to the survey research data in Wutai County in Shanxi Province, about 258 grain farmers, this paper studys cereal-growing farmers on the choice behaviors of new breeds and its influencing factors. the article has descriptive analys is of the new varieties usages, and empirically analyzes factors impacting farmers’ new breed selection with Logistic model.The results show that: age and the education level of householders, arable land, family income, and the extent of second-occupation, whether to participate in cooperatives, whether to accept the new varieties and technical training have a significant impact on new varieties choice behaviors of grain farmers; the education level of householders, arable land, and the degree of second-occupation, whether to participate in cooperatives, whether to accept the new varieties and technical training have a posit ive signif icant effect on the farmers’ behavior to choose a new breed; while age of householders and family income have a signif icant negative effect on farmers to choose new breeds.
