Nuclear power as a clean, efficient and safe energy plays an irreplaceable role in the source of energy supply in china. For nuclear power enterprises, we must adhere to the principle of "safety first, quality first" anytime.Procurement is an important part of activities in nuclear power plant, and the quality of procurement affects the quality of items procured, which finally affects the quality of operations in nuclear power plant. There is no safety guarantee without qualified procurement quality; therefore, supplier quality management is an important part of the quality management system.At present, there are many domestic and international researches on project management, supplier management and quality management, but the research on supplier quality management of electric power industry is relatively less. Electric power industry gives priority to the project, and the traditional supplier quality management method based on mass-production industry is very difficult to practically apply in the electric power industry as the long product cycle and the big variance.The paper takes company S as the research object, summarizing supplier quality management system, analyzing its present situation, and analyzes the existing problems of supplier quality management in company S in the aspects of supplier quality management mode, supplier qualification in the supplier selection period, process settings in quality control and supplier quality performance evaluation according to the international quality management standards for nuclear power and supplier quality management theories. Based on the researches of the problems existing in the supplier quality management system and processes of company S, the paper tries to discuss the solutions and establish a set of supplier quality management system and processes which are applicable to company S by using the theories of quality management and the requirements of quality assurance standards, combining with the practices.Firstly, the paper introduces the background and meanings for the research, and puts forward the importance of supplier quality management.Then, the paper elaborates supplier quality management theories, introducing the standards of quality assurance used in nuclear industry, and elaborates 5M1 E managerial methodology and PDCA Cycle usually used in quality management, providing the theory foundations for the following specific research.After that, the paper introduces the supplier quality management system of company S, making researches according to the processes of "quality management in the process of supplier selection – supplier quality management during the process of project implementation –supplier performance evaluation on quality", and identifies existing problems. Inspect and control prerequisites of manufacture and manage suppliers’ quality plans by using 5M1 E managerial methodology; dynamically manage the overall supplier quality management system and continuously make improvements and optimizations by using PDCA Cycle.
