Studies On County Economic Development In Poor Areas

Taken Xichuan County, Nanyang City, as a case, this study uses the data of Xichuan County in the last ten years of social and economic development, appraises the economic development of Xichuan County, by taking method of the combination of theory and practice, the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, static and dynamic analysis. Research results show that the economy of Xichuan County, as a state-level poverty-stricken counties, won the great development through the support of national and local government practice; but it also produced a series of problems, such as small amount of the economy, the unreasonable industrial structure, the unbalanced development between urban and rural areas, low economic openness and so on. The problems caused by the poor environment, the change of original industrial structure by the reservoir construction, the small amount of modern production factors, low ability of resource integration and so on. Xichuan County should vigorously develop modern agriculture, new industrialization and tourism. The county economy will win the great developmen by optimizing the environment and opening wider to the outside, taking many initiatives to attract factors of modern production, balancing urban and rural development.
