The Study On Blank Inventory Management In Photomask Manufacturer

As lithographic mould,photomasks are plenty used in the flexible printed circuit board, flat panel display, touch panel, integrated circuit and other industries. It`s the most important manufacture tools in modern electronic industries. There are two main tendency after photomask development up to now. One is photoreticle which with smaller pattern line/space size used in integrated circuit industry. Another is larger size mask which used in thin film transistor liquid crystal display.Because wear of domestic basic industries. And the high grade photomask users are all capital and technology intensive industries. So high grade photomask’s supply chain is converge at foreign country like Japan and Korea before. Chinese mainland just can supply low grade photomask.As the largest photomask maker in Chinese mainland, S company has long production experience and technology accumulated. With the development of TFT-LCD and IC industry in Chinese mainland recent year, it entered the high grade photomask production area and shared a big part market in China.In recent years, there many problems happened in S company inventory control for blank which is the most important raw material as the market continues increase. The traditional inventory management method in S company can`t meet production and customer needs as the company rapid development. The blank`s inventory has take up a lot of capital and restrict the company`s development.First, this thesis study the basic principles of inventory and inventory management and the supply chain management, then analyze the problem under inventory management and supply chain environment. Based on these theories, make a detailed analysis about the inventory management problem of S company. Including so many stock species about blanks, classification and control method are imperfect, demand forecasts are inaccurate, supply chain is not controlled by S company, information technology is wake and affected the inventory management. Through the analyzing the problem, made the specific solution about inventory management improvement in S company. 1. According to analyze the customers demand and give some advice to reduce the purchasing species of glass substrate. According to process improvement reduce the purchasing species of photoresist. Then reduce the purchasing species of blanks.2. Using ABC classification method to reclassification all blanks by amount occupancy, and give each type proper control method. Meantime, combine with the end user character and amount of use per purchase cycle, make different purchase strategy.3. By change the purchase process in supply chain to remove the supply chain control right from blank supplier to photomask manufactory and reduce the purchase cycle.4. Improve the automated information communicate and statistics system. Provide reliable data and information for internal decision-making.5.Building exhaustive incentive, reward and punishment management system. Finally, in summing up on the basis of this study, give a prospect of the further study.
