In the information age, the market competition condition is constantly changing, which brings many historic opportunities to a large number of domestic enterprises, especially to private enterprises and meanwhile, poses new challenges to them. How to change enterprise’s rigid management model in the past, build up a new organizational structure featuring unobstructed information, rapid reaction and strong creative power so as to adapt to the changing market environment is a problem that many an enterprise needs to solve urgently. YS Company is just in such environment and expects to achieve its “second enterprise” by innovating the management and reforming the organization. This paper takes the company’s research and development department. as the research subject, investigates and analyses the problems exist within the organizational structure of department and makes corresponding suggestions for the redesigning of enterprise’s organizational structure by combining the systematic theoretical knowledge.This paper first introduces the research background, purpose, significance and approach of the subject, and then, expounds the theoretical knowledge concerning organization theory and design. After that, it introduces the background of the company and the current structure situation of its research and development department. Next, according to the author’s analysis of his work experience and such methods as interviews with enterprise’s executives and investigations of employees, this paper analyses and investigates the problems with the establishment of organizational structure and management of enterprise’s research and development department, then it complements and verifies those problems from different angles, and finally, focuses these problems on the following four major aspects: unreasonable organizational structure, undefined duty, imperfect processes and policies and the lack of training on human resources. Finally,centers on core issue found in the investigation and research, this part makes corresponding suggestions for organizational reform in terms of the general process of organizational reform, adjustment of organizational structure, optimization of function, improvement in process and the training of organization.
