Since 2000, Chinese automobile industry presents a rapid growth. In 2013, the car’s ownership in China reaches to 137 million, which is expected to reach 200 million in 2020. Automobile Spare parts market also presents a rapid development synchronously. Spare parts business of each automobile companies increases dramatically.However, as the automobile factories’ production capacity increases and and the market grows relatively slowly, the competition between automobile companies becomes fierce. After-sale service satisfaction has become the key factor to enhance brand effect and after-sale service level has become the key KPI indicator in spare parts logistics.After-sale spare parts warehouse is the main links in supply chain and it directly affects the level of the logistics’ service, cost and operation efficiency for logistics companies. On the basis of this demand and also the demand of future business growth, Fengshen Logistics Company starts to build its new spare parts distribution center in east China and it pays more attention on planning warehouse construction of this distribution center. This paper takes this as its research object and also researches on spare parts storage, operation process, layout planning and so on.Firstly, the paper researches the status of warehouse planning and spare parts logistics warehouse planning, and studies the research process and results of the similar topics, both at home and in abroad. Secondly, it analyses the business situation of the old east China spare parts warehouse of Fengshen Logistics Company. It analyses the characteristics both in automobile spare parts and in its logistics process and makes a reasonable classification according to its logistics attributes. It analyses the historical operation data of pre-logistics technology center, and studies the storage situation of the warehouse by using ABC analysis method, the XYZ volatility analysis method, and then makes a reasonable classification. It also analyses the data structure of historical orders in order to make preparation for the design of sorting operation. Thirdly, this paper makes analysis of the future business forecast, deducing the future logistics demand from various spare parts. Then, it designs a reasonable storage mode according to each logistics attribute and main operation process in warehouse. Then, it makes the area calculation, and the calculation of other auxiliary functions areas. On the basis of the regional logistics mode, the amount of work and the area demand, using LSP theory, it makes a reasonable planning for the warehouse layout.This paper will also make a reasonable innovation by using mature planning steps, logic and method in logistics industry, combining with the target and the business demand of Fengshen Logistics Company, to avoid design risk and to reach the goal of increasing operation efficiency and decreasing operation cost.
