People generally anticipate releasing pressure, seeking solaceful and balancing the body and soul in fierce social competition due to fast lifestyle and heavy pressure, so healing gradually becomes one of the most important motivations for traveling. This paper defines the concept based on the above phenomenon with large quantity of research review, and studies traveling phenomenon of special model by quantization and nature method. This paper explores the characteristics of individual tourist’s healing behavior by research review study, questionnaires, deep interview, and content analysis and other method, finding the realization, universality and rationality basis of traveling motivation of healing-seeking, and providing the theory supporting and realization reference for the traveling product design, tourism marketing, and improvement of individual traveling experience and satisfaction.This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is introduction, the second part is about review of existing references, empirical study is given from the third to the fifth part, and the last part comes to conclusion.The first part introduces the background for title selection, research method and idea, sets forth its research purpose, significance and content, and recreation point; the second part is all about reference review and definition, review is given to the relationship between heal and healing, origin, needs of times, and cultural origin, it finds that the popularity of the word healing has deep times and social origin. It summaries and concludes the research results by theory and application view respectively, defines and depicts the basic concept of healing traveling behavior and main characteristics from the broad and narrow sense, and points that the typical healing traveling behavior has the characteristics of exploding by special event, distinct preference choice for traveling destination, reutilization behavior included, and the clear differences with effect of healing.From the third to the fifth part, three methods are applied for empirical study. The third part is questionnaires design and result analysis by quantization and nature analysis method, optional case study, finding the healing traveling behavior with universality. It makes quantization and nature research and analysis for the seeking of healing traveling behavior, general characteristics and effect of healing. Study shows that the interviewees who applied healing travelling behavior are in majority, which is indicating that the existence of this phenomenon has objective reality; emotional healing is the most common demand, and most of the travel motivation are emotional curing, which indicates the existence of healing tourism behavior are rational; great percentage of people being interviewed has the desire of healing travel and the healing travel demand are relatively strong, but recognition of the public on the promotion of healing tourism destination promotion through media is not high. The fourth part is deep interview and case analysis, analysis shows the healing travel behavior of the interviewees are generally triggered by specific events, and their recognition over healing travelling, destination choosing preferences, travel mate selection, ritual healing behavior and evaluation of curative effect are different to some extent. The fifth part is the analysis of internet picture and article information, finding that promotion through media, movie and television has guided the healing travelling behavior to some extent but over-stated the healing effect, and the description of healing travelling behavior from articles shared on-line reflects relatively strong features of healing tourism.The sixth part is conclusion which generalizes the following four basic points. First, the reality and rationality of existence in healing traveling behavior. Second, healing travelling behavior is defined from both the narrow and broad sense, it indicates that healing travelling behavior has such characteristics of exploding by special event, not shy talking about healing demands, distinct preference choice for traveling destination, reutilization behavior included, and the clear differences with effect of healing. Third, it also indicates that the media promotion and movie and television product promotion for individual healing traveling behavior shall be objected to treatment with balance of anticipation and satisfaction to avoid over-guiding and over-promotion. Last, the healing tourism need appeals to the diversity, custom-tailor, and individual development of traveling product. Meantime, the tourism supervision authorities shall pay more attention to traveling individual service and prevention. The conclusion part also reflects the shortcomings of this paper, and the future research directions are prospected.
