The Research On Extension Willingness Of Agricultural Extension Workers And Its Influencing Factors

By studying the existing relevant literature, we found that the agricultural extension workers’ enthusiasm is not high and can not adequately put into passion and energy in dealing with the work. This is bound to affect the efficiency of agricultural technology extension system, so the agricultural technology can not be effectively spread also and make the pace of agricultural development slow down.In order to understand the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and its influencing factors,providing ideas and suggestions to improve the agricultural extension workers motivation and perfect agricultural extension service system and incentive system. The author chooses 230 agricultural technology extension workers on the jop of 5 counties(cities) in Ji lin province as a sample and use the quantitative analysis as the main research method, describing the extension willingness of agricultural technology extension workers with different features by using the descriptive statistics analysis and analyzing the influence of four aspects including personal characteristics of agricultural extension workers, subjective cognition, characteristics of the environment,and job satisfaction on the extension willingness by using the correlation analysis and multiple response analysis.The results showed : 1.Agricultural extension workers that willing to engage in extension work accounted for 86.5%, agricultural extension workers that unwilling to engage in extension work accounted for 13.5%; 2.The extension willingness of agricultural extension workers significantly related with four aspects including personal characteristics of agricultural extension workers,subjective cognition, characteristics of the environment,and job satisfaction. To be specific, there was a significant positive correlation between the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and personal characteristics of agricultural extension workers including gender, age, educational background, major, professional titles, length of service; In terms of subjective perception, there was a significant positive correlation between the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and working attitude and the willingness of continuing education, there was a significant negative correlation between the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and future plan; In terms of characteristics of the environment, there was a significant positive correlation between the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and interpersonal relationship and working environment, there was a significant negative correlation between the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and the difficulty of working; In terms of job satisfaction, there was a significant positive correlation between the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and salary, income, social security and welfare, working condition and environment, management system, social credit, personal development space, the showing of speciality advantages, the sense of achievement, the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers and work stability and work autonomy was uncorrelated.Finally this paper draws the following conclusion:First, the agricultural extension workers have a little higher willingness; Second, the extension willingness of agricultural extension workers will be Influenced by personal characteristics of agricultural extension workers including gender and age etc,subjective cognition including working attitude etc, characteristics of the environment including interpersonal relationship and working environment etc,and job satisfaction including salary and income etc;Third,the Agricultural extension workers’ enthusiasm is not high. In these four aspects, subjective cognition and characteristics of the environment as internal cause and external factors are the main factor of influencing on extension willingness of agricultural extension workers. According to the conclusion, the paper also gives some advice for perfecting agricultural extension law, quantizing the executive standard of regulation;establishing all-round participation system of assessing achievement and efficiency;increasing financial investment, improving the welfare treatment and working condition and so on.
