Research On The Financial Agglomeration Competitiveness Of Guangzhou

Finance, with its function of media, orientation and configuration, is promoting the development of modern economy and becoming the core of it. Financial cluster is propitious to improve the efficiency of resource allocation, is a necessary way of the modern financial industry development, and also an important reason for the formation of financial center. The trait of financial cluster is contributed to its incomparable competitiveness, which is reflected in the external scale economy, competition, innovation and so on. They affect the real economy through agglomeration benefits. Guangzhou is one of the earliest and highest level opening city of Chinese financial industry, and the strongest financing capacity center city of Southern China. In order to consolidate the position of the central city and build the international metropolis, we must pay attention to the development of the financial industry. Enhancing the competitiveness of the financial cluster is the inevitable way to promote the development of the financial industry and the construction of regional financial center.The purpose of this paper is to find out the weaknesses of Guangzhou’s financial cluster development through qualitative and quantitative analysis, explore the path to improve the Guangzhou’s financial cluster competitiveness. The thesis Begin with the review of domestic and foreign theoretical and empirical research on financial cluster competitiveness, first new definition are set to the financial cluster and financial cluster competitiveness, at the same time formation reasons and sources of competitiveness of financial agglomeration elaborated. Then combine with the history and present situation of Guangzhou’s financial development, the paper carries on the qualitative analysis with method of SWOT and quantitative analysis with factor analysis method, and find out financial cluster’s comprehensive advantages and disadvantages of Guangzhou with the qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Finally, based on the discussion above, to improve the financial cluster competitiveness, the corresponding policy suggestions are put forward.
