Research On Competitiveness Evaluation Of China’s Chemical Fertilizer Manufacturing Listed Companies

As the leader of chemical fertilizer manufacturing industry, China’s chemicalfertilizer manufacturing listed companies have a mission to readjust industrial structureand promote the whole competitiveness of domestic enterprises, their competitivenessdirectly reflect the level of the chemical fertilizer manufacturing industry’s competitivecapability. Chemical fertilizer surplus production with1%tariffs on imported fertilizermakes the domestic chemical fertilizer manufacturing enterprises face the dual pressure athome and abroad.This paper first analyses research background and significance, describes currentresearch situation both at home and abroad and the existing competitiveness evaluationmethods, proposing innovations of this paper. Secondly, this paper gives a bird’s-eye viewof the situation of chemical fertilizer manufacturing industry and points out theimportance of financial indicators for these companies. Thirdly, this paper puts forwardthe competitiveness evaluation index system from a financial perspective. Fourthly, thispaper selects23domestic listed companies and6foreign listed companies, based on their2010annual report data, makes a comparative study and uses cluster analysis based on thefactor analysis result. Fifthly, this paper gives some advice. Finally, this paper gives someconclusions such as growing competitiveness is strong and overall competitiveness is notstrong, and points out the inadequacies and prospect.The main objectives of this paper are as follows: First, enriching competitivenessevaluation theories; Second, exploring financial indicators to evaluate the competitivenessof China’s chemical fertilizer manufacturing listed companies; Third, exploring specificcompetitiveness evaluation ways based on the evaluation result by financial indicators.Innovations of this paper are as follows: First, building a evaluation index systemfrom a financial perspective, researching by using factor analysis and cluster analysis.Second, in the empirical research component, using cluster analysis to classify researchbased on factor analysis results. Third, finding out the strengths and weaknesses of thecompetitiveness of China’s chemical fertilizer manufacturing listed companies through thecomparative study of domestic and foreign listed companies, and putting forward specificrecommendations.
