The Agricultural Competitiveness Of Xinjiang Production And Construction Corps Based On Diamond Model

Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps(the Corps) is a frontier production organization regarded as chaos when able to fight, when steady to product". Its existence and development have special historical connotation and realistic significance. As one of China’s three major Reclamation Corps, Cultivating historical mission is based on the support of agricultural settlement. Agricultural competitiveness is a manifestation of agricultural development in a national or regional. Agriculture shaped the desert into today’s warehouse for grain and cotton after sixty years of settlement in Corps. The agricultural production capacity significantly enhanced since the reform and opening up in Corps. With the current economic market reform, the structure of population and industry are adjusting, and the national even Corps is facing a series of shocks and challenges. So it is important to solve agriculture, farm groups, farmers questions by enhancing agricultural competitiveness.In this study, the agriculture of Corps is studied, and the study is trying to explore the agricultural competitiveness in recent years. Heilongjiang Reclamation Area is similar with Corps in natural factors and social factors, so the Heilongjiang Reclamation Area is selected as reference.Regarding the diamond model, the study combines the agricultural competitiveness of Corps with Heilongjiang Reclamation Area,and establishes a three indicators system involving foundation competitiveness, structural competitiveness, industrial competitiveness, scale competitiveness,market competitiveness and modern competitiveness. The analysis results show a continued increase in the overall trend in the research stage for both, and the growth rate is much higher than the latter part of the early growth level. In addition, Heilongjiang Reclamation has stronger momentum of development than corps, and this gap is showing a slight expansion trend. The competitiveness of industry, modernization and scale have been in a growth trend in Corps. But the competitiveness of foundation, structural and market twists, their growth trend also have a high similarity.Combined with analysis and results, the study learn from the experience of developed countries and regions revelation agricultural development based on the development direction of the Corps of agricultural development. In the last the study makes thinking in protection of agriculture as the foundation, structural optimization and adjustment, expand the industrial level,moderate scale agricultural operations, as well as to promote the modernization strengthen the system to improve agricultural development support system to enhance the agricultural competitiveness of Corps.
