| Global warming further intensified, which seriously affects human survival and development, more and more countries and scholars focus on energy saving and emission reduction, carbon emissions, low carbon economy and other topics. China replaced the US as first emitter of carbon dioxide in 2006, carbon emissions problems in China became the focus of world attention, increasing pressure to reduce emissions. Especially for Hebei Province, the current environmental situation is not optimistic, poor air quality, serious problems of carbon emissions. As major trade province coupled with coal-dominated energy consumption structure, Hebei province is faced with double pressure of foreign trade development and carbon emission reduction. From perspective of the impact of foreign trade on carbon emissions in Hebei province, this article explores how to promote the development of foreign trade and carbon emission reduction in Hebei province. By analyzing Hebei’s current energy consumption and carbon emissions, it’s concluded that the energy consumption structure is irrational, energy consumption and carbon emissions increased year by year, carbon intensity decreased but higher than national level on the whole. In addition, the current situation of foreign trade in Hebei province was analyzed respectively from aspects of trade volume and trade structure. Then we expounded the theoretical basis and mechanism about the impact of foreign trade on carbon emissions, proposed that foreign trade by influencing the economic growth indirectly affect carbon emissions, foreign trade through scale effect, structure effect, technological effect and policy effect have impact on carbon emissions. According to the relevant data collected and calculated of foreign trade and carbon emissions in Hebei province, by constructing empirical model to study impact validity of foreign trade on carbon emissions. The results show that carbon emissions and economic growth have a positive correlation in Hebei province, the scale effect and structural effect of foreign trade on carbon emissions is positive, the technical effect is negative, and FDI is conducive to control carbon emissions in Hebei province. On this basis, we conduct research on carbon emissions and exports in Hebei province by decoupling analysis to study the reaction of carbon emissions on foreign trade in the short term. Finally, based on research results, we put forward policy suggestions in view of the problems of carbon emissions in Hebei province. |
