The Relationship Between The Regional Economy And Regional Logistics Development Study In Shanxi Province Based On The Cointegration Theory

China’s economy has seen a growth rate of 10 percent in average ever since the reform and opening up policy began 30 years ago, and continued to maintain a high speed of development along with the deepening of the policy. Being an important component and recently a new growth point of national economy, modern logistics industry has been developing fast all around the world. Shanxi province, with its near-inland and close-to-the-coast location as an advantage, has been taking the lead in the development of some industries in China. Besides, Shanxi also enjoys abundant resources reserve, which greatly enhances the development of its logistics industry. As the logistics demand increases with the growing economy, a more and more obvious relationship between logistics and economy has been exposed. Finding out the internal connection between regional economy and regional logistics and applying a scientific analysis might accurately evaluate the logistics demand, providing references for not only regional government, but also logistics department and construction department of logistics parks.This paper summarized theories about logistics and economy based on an extensive reading of researches on logistics industry development, logistics demand, and relationship between logistics and economy. Representative studies have been selected and further analyzed. The status quo of logistics industry development in Shanxi was presented in this paper. Moreover, the demand structure, subject and flow of logistics in the province were orientedly analyzed. On this basis an index system for examining the relation between regional economy and regional logistics industry was built. At the same time to verify the transport, storage, postal service instead of the logistics industry production value and the feasibility of the freight instead of through put text to be translated.An application of grey relational analysis tested the degree of association between indexes. Using the cointegration theory as the key foundation, this paper also applied ADF test, cointegration analysis, Granger causality test to some indexes by employing Eviews 6.0.The study showed that the logistics industry development and economy growth in Shanxi had a long-term and stable correlated relationship, but they affected each other in different degrees. The Granger test proved both correlation between Shanxi’s secondary industry and its logistics development, and correlation between economy growth and logistics workers. Further analysis on the secondary industry and logistics quantity discovered a long-term and balanced relationship between them. The development of secondary industry was found the Granger cause of logistics quantity and can drive growth of logistics demand in Shanxi.
