Research On The Impact Of Environmental Regulation To The Efficiency Of The Auto Industry

The auto industry sat at the heat of our national economy, Auto output by a share of GDP from the "ninth five-year" period of less than 3% to more than 8% now, especially after 2008, the valspar has kept both the first in the world, proving that Chinese auto industry is experiencing the development by leaps and bounds. Production and sales are the champion on the world stage. But as the development of the auto industry making, it also brought serious environmental pollution problem. Our country began to implement environmental regulation of the auto industry. As the environment of automotive industry regulation in our country becomes gradually perfect, it is bound to have an impact on the efficiency of the industry. Based on the environment externality theory, the commonality of the environment, information asymmetry and the ambiguity of property right, by using the mechanism of the influence of the environmental regulation on the efficiency of the auto industry as the breakthrough point, this artical analyses the mechanism of the influence that the environmental regulation on the efficiency of Chinese automobile industry from both the micro level and macro level by using DEA method to measure the efficiency of Chinese automobile industry, and further more, using Tobit method to study the influence of environmental regulation on the efficiency of auto industry in our country.This paper illustrates the present situation of the environmental regulation of the automobile industry in our country from two aspects,one is the introduction of the environmental regulation law,the other is the investment situation of pollution control,After the analysis of the mechanism,this article measures the efficiency of the auto industry of our country, and does the quantitative analysis based on the panel data of 10 listed companies in our country in 2004-2013. Through quantifying environmental regulation variables respectively from two aspects of administrative regulation and economic regulation, this paper comparatively analyses the influence of environmental regulation on the efficiency of auto industry in our country. And finally this article draws some conclusions, and puts forward some corresponding policy recommendations.The empirical results show that the administrative regulation has a positive impact on the efficiency of the auto industry, and the relation between the economic regulation and the efficiency of this industry is an "U" type which we can see from the input of the investment in environmental protection of China in recent years. With the emphasis on technological innovation and industrial structure adjustment, environmental regulation has made certain achievements. China has broke through the inflection point of the "U" type, that is to say, in the future,as time goes on, there will be more intensity of environmental regulation in our country and more efficiency in the auto industry in our country.
