Boron is widely used as a chemical raw material, mainly used for the production of borax, boric acid, boron compounds and so on, but also the important chemical raw materials in the fields of metallurgy, building materials, machinery, electronics, chemical industry, light industry, nuclear industry, medicine, agriculture and other. At present, the exploitation of boron mineral resources is mainly distributed in Turkey, the United States, Argentina and other countries, although China is rich in resources, but faced with the dilemma of "high reserves and low production", the exploitation is difficult, and the utilization rate is low.The thesis based on the “Global boron ore resources distribution and resource potential analysis”, and is on the basis of collection of data and statistics, to carry out global boron mineral resources distribution studies, induction of the classification, spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of boron resource. Furthermore, the thesis summarizes the metallogenic regularity of various types of boron deposits, and finally delineation of the resource perspective area, which combine with the exploration and development situation to carry on the appraisal to the prospective area, to provide advice to the "going out" strategy of national resources.According to statistics of 2015, boron ore reserves of the world is about 380 millions ton, Turkey, Russia, the United States, Chile and China are rich in boron mineral resources, the reserves of 5 countries accounted for about 97% of the world’s total reserves. The main borax, boric acid producers of World are Turkey, the United States, China, Chile, Russia and other, and more than half of the world’s borate production is hold by the United States and Turkey.Based on the previous research, we divided the boron deposits into four main types: volcanic sedimentary type, modern Saline Lake type, sedimentary metamorphic type, and skarn type. The thesis summarized the rules of each type presenting in the metallogenic epoch and spatial distribution, and metallogenic regularity based on the analysis of 11 typical ore deposits.After formulate the rules of delineating the resources potential distribution area, we delineated five potential distribution areas: the west-Anatolian potential area, potential area of North America, the Andean potential area, the Liaodong potential area, the Qinghai-Tibet potential area.The strategy of "going out “of boron resources of China is put forward, which is based on the distribution characteristics of the resource area and the resource potential area, and the metallogenic characteristics and metallogenic regularity of the boron ore resources. The west-Anatolian potential area has a large number of boron resources, easy for exploration, and easy to import, so it’s suitable for importing resources from the west-Anatolian potential area. The potential of the Andean region has huge resources, and the investment environment is good, but it is inconvenient to exploit. Potential area of North America has a large reserve, and mining conditions are ripe, but the Investment environment is not good with the domestic market and policy restrictions. Tibet Qinghai potential area has been an important source of supply, so we should continue to increase the exploitation and develop the resource. The sedimentary metamorphic type boron deposit in the Liaodong area has been the object of our country’s development in the past several decades, but at present, it is confronted with the limited resources.
