The Estimation On Exports Technical Structure Of Wood-based Panel Industry

In recent years, China has gradually taken the first place in wood forest products production and exported the most wood forest products in the world. The wood-based panels has accounted for the largest proportion of exports, and the wood-based panels industry is one of the most impoRTVnt part of our wood forest products industries. With the development of the globalization of trade, the total amount of China’s wood-based panels export trade is growing, and occupying an increasingly impoRTVnt position in world export markets.Since 2008, the average growth rate of total exports of China’s wood-based panels trade has been higher than that of in the world, about 2.1 percent above. In the year of 2014, the growth rate reached 21.35%. The total amount of China’s wood-based panels exports in 2001 accounted for less than 2.5%, ranked No.18 in the world. But by 2005 this proportion gradually has increased to 11.87 percent, rising to No.4 in all the world’s wood-based panel exports country.However, due to our long-term developing situation and the special forest conditions, wood-based panel industry exports technology had lower competitive advantage related to other powerful countries in the world, especially compared with the countries in the export of high value-added products. Faced with such a huge world export market of wood-based panels, China’s wood-based panel industry had a long way to go compared with the rest of the world in developed economies. Therefore, how is exports technical structure of Chinese wood forest products, especially what kind of changes it will have in the world market? As well as the key factors affecting technology exports and China’s wood-based panels industry structure. How can we further promote China’s wood-based panels industry’s export structure, and how to make it upgrade towards a more rational technical direction of evolution, and how to strengthen China’s wood-based panels trade competitive advantage in forest products in the world market? These issues are the main contents of this article. The paper is based on trade theory and documentation of relevant information on China’s wood-based panels industry, theoretically and empirically analyzes the situation of China’s wood-based panels industry export trade and trade structure; On this basis, the analysis of the Chinese panel products import and export trade, import and export commodity structure, import and export market structure are included; and a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods is used to find the determinants of export trade structure; In this paper, the appropriate indicators are also chose to measure the export of technology content and complexity of the wood-based panel industry in China; and finally, according to the empirical results of the previous analysis and testing, several optimization strategies and recommendations are put forward to improve China’s wood-based panel exports technical structure.
