With the increasing of smart phones and mobile Internet coverage, a large number of applications(apps) for smart phone designed.And the mobile instant messaging(MIM) apps developed best. According to the statistics, there are more than 20 MIM apps in china and the numbers are growing fast, like WeChat and Momo. WeChat came out in early 2011, and become the leader of MIM apps, which has covered more than 90% of Chinese smart phone now. As of the fourth quarter of 2015, WeChat’s month active user has increased to 6.97 million and more than 200 countries people can use it in 20 different languages. At the same time, the foreign MIM apps also developed fast, like Line, Kakaotalk, etc.. The profit model of each MIM has own characteristics influenced by internal and external factors. It makes sense for China to do research on the profit modele of MIMs.This study first has been clear about the background and significance of the selected topic. Secondly, this paper expounds the development of Mobile Internet, and the relevant theories of mobile IM and profit model. Later, analysed the profit model in two aspects. After that, put forward four suggestions and build the corresponding security system from the government and enterprise.
