The rapid development of digital technology and the Internet that produces a number of emerging industries and has profoundly changed people’s living habits and spiritual needs. As the representative of the rapid development of new things, online video has created large number of users. The information consumption of online video is a new pattern and it relies on the terminal equipment and the online connection surroundings.It’s main product is the video and the subject is its users. The study of the information consumption of online video plays an important role on the online video industry and cultural consumption.Based on the related literature of domestic and foreign online video study, this paper analysis the income and expenditure of information consumption and the status and characteristics of online video in a view of environment and resources. This paper integrates environment, the main content and users into a whole from the angle of the value and scale of the information consumption of online video. What’s more, an empirical research is constructed to study the influence factor of the value and scale of the information consumption of online video. The research takes the method of ridge regression to solve the multicollinearity problem among the indices and produces some significant results which can benefit the development of online video. The results show that the amount of internet content is the scale of online video users and that the online video content resources is the greatest impact of its users. Finally, it produces some results and puts forward the expectations and prospects for future research based on the research.
