In recent years, tourism has become a new urban consumer demand and a new lifestyle. More and more citizens long for the traditional life. They respect and enjoy the nature, wish back to nature. City residents refuse to be driven, the lack of spontaneous and autonomy "stand-type" life. Rural tourism came into being. It is generally welcomed and widely recognized by the market of urban residents. Rural tourism has a huge market potentiality and broad market prospects. As a country with a long history of agricultural civilization, China widely distributes various ancient villages. Traditional villages are gradually formed in the long-term agricultural civilization. The villages condensate of historical memory and reflect the progress of civilization, which are known as the pearl of traditional culture. But the historical and cultural features of ancient villages are destroyed due to the lack of conservation awareness, the lack of over-exploitation and other issues. There are a lot of historic, unique ancient villages in Fujian Province. Nanjing County is famous as the "Kingdom of Earth Buildings", "Earthen hometown". Guan Yeung is an ancient village and the famous hometown of overseas Chinese in Zhangzhou. In the background of rural tourism, the ancient villages’conservation and development is also facing difficulties.The article focuses on the conservation and tourism development of the atypical villages which are with regional vulture backgrounds. The article selects the case of Guan Yeung’s conservation and travel planning to study. The article mainly takes the method of literature research, field research, comparative studies and comprehensive analysis. Firstly, it introduces the background and significance, purpose, methods and literature review. Secondly, it describes the knowledge of ancient villages’conservation and development, including related concepts, traditional villages’conservation and tourism development model, expression of regional culture in the traditional village tourism, as well as the differences between atypical ancient villages and traditional villages. Thirdly, it takes the case of Guan Yeung’s conservation and Tourism development planning in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province,.The case studies the current situation, analyzes Guan Yeung’s geographical and cultural resources, on which the conservation and travel planning is based. The planning focuses on the expression of regional culture in the overall planning, zoning, and architecture design. The last part constitute of Chapter VII and summary chapter. The article combines theory and practice, aiming to explore the expression of regional culture in the ancient village tourism planning as well as to achieve win-win development of cultural heritage and tourism.
