At present, China’s aluminum industry and market are both highly competitive and the market structure has undergone a series of changes, which lead to the reform of price formation mechanism. Challenges for aluminum enterprises are gradually increasing. At the same time, there is huge overcapacity in the world aluminum industry in recent years while the demand for aluminum is grown slowly. Under the imbalance of aluminum supply and demand, the profits of aluminum industry fall sharply, and logistics is particularly important as the third profit source. So the establishment of logistics network and distribution center can strengthen enterprise’s competitiveness.On the basis of status and problems of distribution logistics in China, this thesis constructs the whole framework of distribution logistics network node layout according to the basic principles and factors of distribution logistics network layout. Meanwhile, features of aluminum handling process are analyzed and combined with the research of distribution logistics network node layout, then the distribution logistics node location model is constructed in order to minimize logistics costs.To solve the location model, chaos genetic algorithms and genetic algorithms are applied respectively to get the position, number and size of logistics nodes by programmed in Matlab software. Directly choosing all cities as candidate of distribution nodes in solving the problem would lead to enormous calculation quantity, so a comprehensive strength evaluation index system is constructed and all demand cities are evaluated by principal component analysis before model solving.A case study of an aluminum enterprise is made to validate the correctness and practicality of model and algorithm. The results show that chaos genetic algorithm outperform the genetic algorithm. Based on the results of chaos genetic algorithm, sensitivity analysis is made to study the impact of different construction costs and transportation costs on location results.The above research provides decision support for aluminum enterprise as well as references to the relevant researches.
