Research Oncity Tram Pricing Method

In order to solve a series of problems by urbanization, such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution, energy crisis, our country began to focus on the development of public transit which oriented urban transport system. Traditional public transport has not effectively solve the increasingly serious problem between supply and demand of traffic. To solve these problems, urban public transport should gradually to diversified development, many cities planning to build the urban public traffic system which is with large-capacity rail transit systems as the backbone, supplemented by low-capacity routine bus. But the edge region of rail transit network or without services, as well as small and medium cities of insufficient passenger demand, lack of a low-volume of public transport. Modern trams gradually being adopted by many cities and laid because of the advantages of moderate volume, low investment, flexible organization, energy conservation and protection of environment.Ticket price is important for urban public transport’s development. Facing fierce competition, Fare policy not only affect the choice of mode of passenger travel, but also is important of development of operating companies.In addition, modern trams in the early operation is in order to attract tourists, and habits for tourists, it need formulate a suitable ticket price. So, it has the vital significance to guarantee modern trams to develop healthy.Firstly, this paper has analyzed the characteristics of modern trams, including development of vintage tram to modern tram,the definition of modern tram operational form, and functional orientation, fully understand their features Secondly, this paper analyzed factors which affect the modern tram’s ticket price; in addition, this article fully coverage common carfare frame and factors which affects the choice of carfare frame, then analyzed the principles of pricing and compare the different pricing methods. Then, based on a comprehensive understanding of game theory, this article set up scientific and feasible model to solve modern tram pricing problem by game theory, and simplify and solve this model. Examples is based on Chengdu Yizhou Avenue typical tram line as the background, combing a series of research data in this passenger report, I calculated ticket price by using modern tram pricing model which is based on game theory, and then formulated reasonable price and make a suggestion. This method offers a reference for the modern tram pricing works in the future.
