Study On The Evaluation Of The Automobile Industry Competitiveness Of The Yangtze River Economic Belt

Since the nineteenth Century, the world automobile industry has developed rapidly, with the rapid development of technology, the automobile production and sales volume has been constantly rising. At present, the automobile industry has become one of the largest industries in the world. Following China entry into WTO in 2001, the production and sales of automobiles in our country rose year by year, and has been still on top of the world for seven years. With strong development momentum, automobile industry has already become the pillar industry of our country. But China’s automobile enterprises which have strong competitiveness are joint venture brands rather than independent brands automobile industry. Our country is just a big country not a great power in terms of automobile industry. The automobile industry has a long industrial chain, wide coverage, high degree of correlation, strong integration, high technology requirement and high added value, so China need to enhance the competitiveness of the auto industry urgently.Playing the unique advantage of the golden waterway and constructing Yangtze River economic belt is a major strategic move. On the one hand, it can promote economic development advance from the East to the West and formate the new power. On the other hand, it can optimize the economic structure, formate strategic interaction with Silk Road Economic Belt, foster new regional economic mainstay belts and opening cooperation platform with global influence.This paper research on the competitiveness of automobile industry competitiveness under the background of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Firstly, using for reference internal and external competitiveness, and according to characteristics of automobile industry and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the paper presents a system consisting of indexes for evaluating competence of automobile industry.Then, the paper makes a ranking of the competitiveness of the automobile industry in 11 provinces using the principal component analysis. Finally, the paper put forward a policy suggestion on promoting the Yangtze River Economic Belt auto industry competitiveness by building a world-class automotive industry cluster along the Yangtze River waterway.
