| With the fast development of national economy, the courier industry grows rapidly as well. EMS, as the only national owned enterprise in courier market, owns the very unique advantages due to its long history and the widely covered working net. However, as all other competitors grows increasingly stronger, especially the great improvement of their working net, and working efficiency, EMS is loosing its competitive force which leads to a serious decrease of its brand advantages. Therefore, how to enlarge the range of working net, increase core competitive power, retain market percentage, becomes the key problem EMS needs take in to consideration.Company N, as the first largest distributing center in Asia, and third largest in the world, is the strategic measurement that EMS is taking positively to deal with the fierce competition both in domestic and overseas market, to develop aviation logistics, and to contend with international logistics conglomerates. The optimized program of distributing center is a huge strategic measurement that logistics company is taking to improve their service quality, promote brand image, and boost business development. It is the new approach, and the inevitable way of the development of China’s courier industry needs to take.Company N had already gained glorious economic and social benefits after put in to production since 2011. It provided a safe and convenient circulation channel for courier products. This paper is focused on the research of the realistic example of the distributing center of company N. It provides feasible solutions for the deepen development and revolution of company N’s production operation through the optimized design of the distribution center by the following three levels:shortening parcel processing time, reducing processing costs, improving automation and standardization.This paper starts with the analysis and identification of current problems, introduces the development status of company N, and comparatively analysis the processing capabilities and length of processing time before and after optimization by quantitative analysis. On this basis, this paper proposed overall design goals and project principles of distribution centers, also designed an optimization program of distribution center’s function process.Taking "bring up automation and artificial mixing method for sorting, merging and reducing sorting grid mouth" as the idea of designing, establish the new production processes. The conclusion of this paper applies not only to the company N’s distribution center, but also to other courier or logistics company distribution center (or distribution center/logistics center/logistics parks/distribution center/ bonded warehouse) also has certain reference value for optimization and upgrading of logistics information flow. |
