Under the background of the low-carbon economy promoted in the global, renewable energy generation technologies represented by wind power and photovoltaic power generation have been developed rapidly and thier power generation cost and price continue to be decreased. At the same time, with the gradual deepening of reform of the electric market mechanism, the competition mechanism will be introduced in the electric market. Achieving the liberaliztion and marketization of electricity trading has beome a trend. The suppliers of the wind power and photovoltaic power genenration will participate in the electric market and bid for accessing to networks with the others. The study of competition ability of wind power and photovoltaic power in the electric market has a great practical significance. In this paper, the main research on competition ability of wind power and photovoltaic power in the electric market is as follows:The formation mechanism of tariff and the existing tariff mechanisms for renewable energy power have been studied. The advantages and disadvantages of every tariff mechanism for renewable energy power net are analyzed. Studies show that the existing tariff mechanisms for renewable energy power do not fully reflect the market competition mechanism of the electricity market. This paper uses multi-agent technology based on the theory of complex adative and introduces the full market competition mechanism to model the electric market including the wind power and photovoltaic power genenration. Meanwhile, this paper studies the cost components of electric generation technologies, puts the compute model of the fixed costs relating to capacity factor and variable costs relating to energy consumption characteristics and establishes the generation cost model of every electric generation technology. In the electric market of a region as an example, this paper ananlyzes the competition ability of wind power and photovoltaic power in the electric market and studies the main factors impacting the competition ability of wind power and photovoltaic power in the electric market. The results show that the competition ability of wind and photovoltaic power generation is poor in the current electricity market. With the initial decline in the cost of electricity, the competition ability isn’t improved. As the cumulative of the decline of cost, power bids on net withe high capacity factor, but bidding on net fullly needs more substantial cost reduction. The methods of improving the competition ability of wind power and photovoltaic power in the electric market at present are proposed and the subsidy mechanism is studied. Under the premise to ensure the full competition in the market, the output subsidy is introduced. Based on the original example, the impact of the subsidy amount to the rate of wind power and photovoltaic power accessing to the electric market and maximum size of renewabe energy at which amount consumers are willing to pay for are analyzed. Subsidy should be made to moderate. Wind power subsidies should be controlled at the range from 257.5 yuan/MWh to 262 yuan/MWh. If the amount consumers willing to pay for is high, the development size of renwebale energy can be consederable.
