Research On The Development Of Recreational Fishery In Guangdong Province

In recent years, with the gradual improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for the residents to get close to nature is also increasing, and recreational fishery has emerged and began to develop rapidly in China, especially in coastal cities. Under the background of the supply-side reforms, many traditional industries has not adapted to the needs of the development of the society. Recreational fishery is a new industry,which is the development of traditional fisheries from the first industry to the third industry.Recreational fishery combines the traditional fishery resources, natural resources and leisure tourism, and it integrates many functions, such as sightseeing, leisure,entertainment, catering, cultural education and so on so that it can let people not only experience the fishing activities, feel the fishing culture, but also to achieve the function of leisure and entertainment. At the same time, recreational fishery has also been innovative in the development of fisheries, and to better meet the needs of tourists.Development of recreational fisheries is not only beneficial to fishermen to solve the problem of jobs and increase the income of fishermen, but also conducive to adjust and optimize the structure of our fisheries, so that it is strongly supported by the government. Now, recreational fishery has been regarded as one of the important marine industries.In the early 1990 s, recreational fisheries has been in the bud in Guangdong which is the earliest development of recreational fishery area in Chinese Mainland, but the development process is relatively slow. In recent years, more and more people pay attention to the recreational fishery, and the related research literature is also increasing.But there are few articles about the recreational fishery in Guangdong province of CNKI,therefore, this paper takes the recreational fishery in Guangdong as the research object.The paper uses case studies, comparative analysis and survey research to study the current situation of recreational fishery in Guangdong, hoping to provide some references for development of recreational fishery in guangdong.On the basis of collecting lots of information on recreational fisheries in Guangdong,the article uses SWOT method to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of its existing resources,finding that it has excellent location, including rich natural resources,obvious geographical advantages and broad consumer market,while there are also someproblems, such as decentralized operation, low quality and so on.In a word,it has the advantages and disadvantages, the opportunities and challenges.Therefore, basing on the analysis and combing with the advanced experience of leisure fisheries development, the article developes a plan to develope the recreational fisheries in Guangdong.The article points out to focus on the development of the West River, East River, North River and the Pearl River area and the eastern and southern coastal areas of the recreational fishery. At the same time,it must take into account the development of eco-recreational fishery in the northern mountains.In addition, the article also put forward specific countermeasures for development of current issues from the government, the fisheries associations and the operator,including implementation planning, strengthening supervision, increaseing publicity, cultivating fisheries association, improving communication channels, creating characteristic brand, realizing scale management and cultivating professional talents and broadening the financing channels and so on.
