In recent years, with the rapid development of electric power enterprise informatization, more and more information systems are extensively used in electric power enterprise, which leads to an increasing degree of dependence on informatization technologies. It also leads to some problems about server room saturation, waste of resource, increased operational and maintenance diffculties. In facing of this situation, electric power enterprises begin to use cloud computing and virtualization technologies for informatization innovation, and virtual resources pool is a key point. It puts all the resources that can be used in the resource pool, and then assign them to the information systems which have requirements; the resource pool allocates appropriate resources to the information systems according to specific rules. This not only provides available resources for the system and improves the efficiency of available resources, but also greatly reduces the cost of enterprise information, get rid of the single server operation and maintenance mode, realize the integration operation and maintenance mode in electric power enterprise.This paper focuses on the research of virtualized resources pool design and deployment. Through the study of cloud computing and virtualization technology, we further researched VMware vSphere virtualization architecture, gave a comparative analysis of VMware vSphere with other virtual platforms. Based on the requirements of the information application systems of electric power enterprises, we built a virtual resource pool in the existing network environment at a province level power enterprise, which provides computing, networking, and storage resources for enterprise information systems. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Analysis of the typical power enterprise information system status and its requirements for virtual resource pool; (2) Design of virtualization resource pool; (3) Deployment of a virtual resources pool and analysis of economic benefit.The implementation of the approach in this paper shows that the resource pool is adequate to meet the normal resources demand of enterprise application system, it can guarantee the safe and stable operation of the application systemand reaches the expected purpose.
