Research On The Sustainable Development Of Chinese Forest Products International Trade

With the development of world economy and international trade, the conflict between trade and environment attracted more and more attention by the countries all over the world. Especially in the background of increasingly serious global climate and environment problem, the ecological environment demand is increasing day by day, forcing forest products trade to the road of sustainable development. In recent years, China has become a superpower in world’s forest products trade, and nowadays China is the center of global forest product trade. While in the process of current development of China’s forest products trade, due to the ecological environment cost externalization, there are some ecological environmental problems which are not harmonious with environment protection policy. Therefore, to explore how to realize the sustainable development of China’s forest products international trade under the perspective of ecological environmental cost internalization is of great significance.First of all, this article selects China’s forest products trade as the research object, basing on the theories of ecological environment cost internalization, relationship between trade and the ecological environment and sustainable trade theory as the foundation, analyzing the present situation of China’s forest products trade. Meanwhile, this paper summarizes the current problems in the sustainable development process of forestry trade, such as facing with green barriers in China’s forest products export trade, timber resources that used are unsustainable, producing large amounts of pollutants in forest production process. Therefore, ecological internalization of environmental costs must be realized, to promote sustainable development of forest products in international trade and environmental protection.Secondly, this article has measured the total ecological environment cost of China’s forest products export trade from the aspects of natural resources cost, environment maintenance costs and the pollution of the environment cost. Meanwhile, this article analyzed the impact of ecological environmental cost internalization of China’s forest products trade short-term effects and long-term effects. At last, using software SPSS 17.0 to build models and regression showed that under the condition of the current ecological environmental cost internalization to our country forest product export trade is positive, Ecological environmental cost internalization degree of China’s forest products international trade is relatively low. The total cost of the ecological environment hasn’t reflected the true value of their consumption of ecological resources.Finally, basing on the perspective of internalization, this paper proposed some suggestions about how China’s forestry trade could realize sustainable development. On one hand, government should take active measures. For example, ecological environmental economic accounting system should be established; environmental pollution fees should be reasonable; trading market system of emission rights should be established and green environmental tax system must be built. On the other hand, as for forest products export enterprises, diversified markets need to be developed to expand import channels; then enterprises should upgrade industrial structure to enhance the value of the products; meanwhile enterprises must set up the concept of eco-marketing and change management ideas.
