Research On Transformation And Upgrading Of The Industrial Value Chain

With the development of economic globalization, China has gradually integrated into the world industrial division, becoming a famous manufacturing factory, but has been at the low end of the global value chain. As China’s comprehensive strength has been continuously enhanced, the industrial development model which is based on the backward manufacturing industry has not been in conformity with the requirements of the times. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the structure of industrial value chain, clarify its ability of value creation, and make clear the transformation and upgrading path, as well as point out the direction and measures to future transformation and upgrading according to current Zhuhai yacht industry status.Based on the theory of industrial value chain, global value chain and industrial upgrading, this paper analyzes the structure and value creation of yacht industrial value chain, and makes use of the 2005-2014 customs export data to determine the position of the Zhuhai yacht industry in the global value chain, as well as analyzes the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of Zhuhai yacht industry development by using SWOT analysis method.The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The Zhuhai yacht industry is still at the low end of the global value chain.(2) The best way of the development of Zhuhai yacht industry is extending the industrial value chain to downstream service industry.(3)This paper puts forward a Four-elements-interactive model, which is “Government co-ordination, Industry promotion, Enterprise innovation, Market operation”, in order to improve the transformation and upgrading of Zhuhai yacht industry.
