Statistical process control (SPC) is an effective method to control the product characteristics in manufacturing process. China has become the world’s factory in recent years, and product quality and cost are indispensable competitive forces. The effective use of SPC quality control method could improve the competitiveness of enterprises practically. JF Company is a leading manufacturer of magnetic materials. It still adopted post-inspection method to control the product quality in previous quality management, without any dynamic, continuous monitoring and adjustment in the manufacturing process. JF Company expanded rapidly in recent years, but unstable product quality limited its development. The paper focuses on how to apply SPC to achieve real-time monitoring and variability control in the manufacturing process in order to improve the final product quality. This paper provides an overview of the SPC quality control method, and the basic theory of the SPC statistical process control. As to the JF Company’s flagship product RM10A magnetic core, it explains how to use X_bar-R (average value-range) control chart, p (reject ratio) control chart and np (the number of defected products) control chart to monitor the variation during the manufacturing process and improve the quality of the final product, which is also a reference to relevant manufacturing enterprises.
