Catering industry is the basis of the people’s livelihood, and it also is a cultural connotation in China, In this paper, with VGI data got from dianping.com, using statistical analysis, spatial analysis, geographic detector to study restaurant space pattern from two aspects, one is composing a measurement and comparison of each paleogeography unit catering industry, another is having a research on different catering industry in spatial diffusion characteristics and scale of the distribution inter provincial and intercity, inner city three scales reveal. The main results include: The number of shops catering size distribution has high rank order provinces prominent size distribution, the factor analysis result showed that the total population of the city and t third industrial added value has great effect on the number of the provincial food industry; through the food composition of spatial clustering, it has a high similarity catering industry structure in the geographical unit adjacent and influenced by culture and policy; diversity index reflects the diversity of the catering industry in the overall difference is small, by calculating the correlation coefficients of total population diversity factor analysis in the catering industry of catering industry diversity has obstructed, and the proportion of the population is foreign to the dining the conditions to produce the diversity of the catering industry have promoted; and research shows that food and beverage coffee and tea and other ten kinds of catering industry spatial diffusion, domestic cuisine spatial diffusion form to contact diffusion, the size distribution is in the distribution of the first and rank size distribution; foreign catering showed obvious characteristics of diffusion the contact, Japanese cuisine and Southeast Asian cuisine is the first,Korean cuisine and Western-style food distribution are showing a high order and low order development was also have higher growth rank size distribution, compared to the tea and coffee geographical preference performance is more significant, the size distribution are shown and the distribution of the first rank scale distribution; quantity scale distribution of each geographical unit the intercity scale is showing a trend of long tail distribution, as the distribution pattern of the two transition states. The rank and diversity distribution showed low order as the size distribution of food trade development, the spatial pattern of the two did not show obvious regularity; and the different large scale catering formats in the mesoscale spatial diffusion showed a hierarchical diffusion and contact diffusion in two forms; the micro-scale with Beilin District for cases, the catering industry in the distribution center, the distribution trend of obvious spatial differentiation, and through the analysis of the diversity of spatial accessibility within the city Beilin District format can be drawn, there is a big difference between the spatial accessibility of different positions of the building and its diversity, it shows that, even if the high density area in the catering industry, the same as a single food format transition and centralized distribution, leading to the existence of diversity of the region is low; and in addition, this paper verified the different scale geographic phenomena exhibit different forms, such as in the provincial scale, the results shows that contact diffusion dominated, and in the city scale observation will find hierarchical diffusion is also an important form. On the other hand, no matter in which scale, diversity and number have no correlation.
