With the rapid development of China’s economy, the improvement of people’s consumption level, people’s way of life along with the diversification, upgrading of the consumption structure make tourism have not been able to simply meet "eat, live, travel, shopping, entertainment," the demand, the tourism industry itself facing transformation and upgrading of the demand, tourism become the field and power plays an important role in our national economy. China’s tourism as a single product, the homogenization of serious, loss of function, there is a large gap between the needs of consumers and tourism, tourism service project usually takes the general tourism based, with the characteristics of tourism activity was minimal, poverty of content of activities, travel much function has yet to be developed. Therefore, it is necessary supply side reforms, transformation and upgrading of tourism. And the reform and innovation of the tourism industry, but the vertical extension of the tourism industry chain, and cannot generate new features, resulting in a long time value. Through the cross-border tourism innovation, is the horizontal development of the tourism industry. Through cross-border integration to expand the function of tourism, the transformation of the tourism industry is of great significance. The cross-border and experience economy theory were summarized, extracted from cross functional design principles, through the analysis of the three elements of the crowd and demand, resources and capability, market and competition, provide the basis for tourism cross functional development and design. Therefore, this paper from the following three aspects of the development of cross-border tourism function design:(1) Cross-border trade. To cross industry theory as the basis, according to the technical route of audience demand, industry resources and ability of industry of cross-border, cross border tourism medical, cross-border tourism education, tourism transboundary food, cross border tourism, sports, tourism and cross the entertainment six path as an example. The research shows that the forms of cross-border trade a variety of functions.(2) Regional cross boundary. According to the regional resource capacity and competition pattern of regional cross-border two direction: adjacent region and non adjacent regional crossborder research analysis in two adjacent regional transboundary resources sharing, complementary function, touring line series, non cross geographical proximity can be way of life experience, can also be a cultural experience.(3) Cultural cross border. According to the audience’s lifestyle and psychological needs, resources and capabilities of different levels and in different times, different regions of the culture of cross-border research that, different levels of culture includes a variety of alternative paths between popular culture and high culture, deep culture, between different regions of the culture can also cross-border, at different times of culture is mainly inheritance of traditional culture by way of modern.Through the above research, it is found that the development and design of the cross boundary function of tourism is necessary, possibility and value. On the one hand, changes in the economic development, consumer demand, and competition pattern of change for tourism to develop the function of the cross-border design provides the necessity; on the other hand, the richness of the allocation of resources for tourism cross functional design offers the possibility. At the same time, the cross function of tourism can not only meet the personalized consumer, closer to the consumer’s life, also can broaden the scope of the development of the tourism industry, the tourism industry to obtain long-term development, for tourism enterprises, cross-border can help enterprises to jump out of the traditional ideas, open business ideas, to obtain greater benefits, which eventually led to the comprehensive development of society as a whole.I hope that my research on the future development of the function of the tourism industry can produce a certain value, to the tourism industry, tourism consumption and economic development to bring new excitement and unlimited possibilities.
