This paper attempt to discuss the problems of popularizing agricultural techniques in the urbanization of Lianzhou district in Wuwei city where is a typical arid and semiarid region in northwest of China and strategies to such problems.This paper presents the current situations, developments and problems of the urbanization of Liangzhou district in Wuwei city by researching the flow of population, land and capital in the process of urbanization,by discussing the four transformations of production mix, employment, pattern of consumption and residential styles all caused by spacial distribution and flow of primary elements, and so clarifies that popularization of agricultural techniques is the bond that connects agricultural research and agricultural production, and is also connected with population, land and fund.The quality of urbanization is not good enough by analyzing the critical stage of current fast speed urbanization. The speed of land use is faster than the speed of population absorption. In the process of urbanization, the amount of land used for rural construction is increasing, industrialization and urbanization are badly imbalanced, the way of urbanization is rough, the rate of production and utilization of rural land is low, the construction of facilities and management are not scientific, the urbanization and popularization of agricultural techniques are not popular in rural area,some peasants have a misunderstanding of urbanization and modern way of agricultural production, rural labor force faces the aging problem, the uncertainties and crisis of agricultural production can not be effectively solved. Affected by the traditional ideas, peasants are not willing to invest in the new agricultural techniques, so the mission of the popularization of agricultural techniques works slowly, the gap between rural area and urban area is increasing.The focus of urbanization of Liangzhou district is the land transaction and this process is led by government. The urbanization expands the stock market, saves the rural resources and makes the popularization of agricultural techniques possible. Urbanization produces more young labor force from rural areas, this meets the labor force needs of middle and large size rural manufactures.Through practical problems that exist in rural development and agricultural extension analysis of various factors restrict induction,In both positive and negative basis of experience combined with the actual development of Wuwei City, summed up urbanization and modern agriculture extension work on, Draw on the useful experience of domestic and agricultural extension work achieved in the process of urbanization, for more influence and Wuwei City agriculture promotion effectiveness factors, Proposed accurate positioning technology needs of rural agricultural extension work,Foster the promotion of agricultural research sector initiative Policymakers must adapt to changing agricultural extension audience, Promote widespread adoption of participatory training mode,Further harmonization of agricultural production and operation costs of various resources and ability to resist risks,Fostering the growth of intermediary organizations,Government counterpart funding guide,Strengthen agricultural extension personnel,Improve farmers’ agricultural science and technology literacy,Construction explore the promotion of the integration model,In demonstration drive, increase farmers’ acceptance of modern agricultural high-tech initiative,Promote land transfer,The promotion of agricultural science and technology application Discussion Suggestions Liangzhou District Development of Agricultural Extension Work.
