With the deepening of economic globalization, the internationalization of domestic market, and the localization of international competition trend is speeding up, many domestic industries and enterprises are fac ing more and more severe international competition. This problem will be more serious for C hina’s oil industry. O ilfield enterprises have greater responsibility of safeguarding national energy security and economic development, because its major goal is to produce oil. In order to be alive and develop in such a competitive environment, it is necessary to improve the overall competitiveness of oilfield enterprises. Shengli O ilfield, as the second largest oilfield in China, has more responsibilities. But after more than half a century of exploration and development, oilfield has entered the middle and late stage, facing many difficulties in exploration and exploitation. To a certain extent, the comprehensive competitiveness of oil field is affected. So it is particularly important to study how to improve the competitiveness of the Shengli Oilfield.This paper classified factors affecting the competitiveness of enterprises through the summary and analysis of the literature of enterprise competitiveness. Combining the characteristics of oilfield enterprises, this paper analyzed the three major factors of oilfield enterprise competitiveness: resource factors, capacity factors and environmental factors. On this basis, the formation mechanism of Shengli O ilfield competitiveness was analyzed from the systematic, dynamic perspective in detail. The competitiveness of Shengli O ilfield system was divided into two sub-systems: enterprise performance competitiveness and potential competitiveness. After building model, this paper used Vensim software to carry on the sensitivity analysis of model and initial state simulation and discovered the internal relations between performance competitiveness and potential competitiveness. This paper found out the several important factors influencing the competitiveness of Shengli O ilfield including the crude oil production, the price of crude oil, the total investment and R&D investment. Finally, based on the results of the stud y, this paper put forward the countermeasure and the suggestion of improving competitiveness of the Shengli Oilfield.
