China and ASEAN are the most important economic development centers in the world, and also play an important and irreplaceable role in the world economy. In the past ten years, China and ASEAN trade rapid development. However, careful observation on both sides of the product structure of trade, we can find some new features, the performance of the most prominent is the similarity of the structure of export products. This article from the macro and micro two levels to study the export products structure of China and ASEAN, through the comparative study to find a similar import and export products, analysis of the causes of this phenomenon.This paper firstly introduces the previous studies, the export product structure and industry trade theory made a brief overview of, and clarify the research ideas of this article, and from the structure of the overall trade between the two sides, bilateral trade structure of the two aspects to be compared using theory and empirical research methods, more comprehensive describes the trade relations between China and ASEAN(Association of Southeast Asian nations that there is a conclusion great intra industry trade between China and ASEAN.The next, select the most representative Mechanical and electrical industry as the research object, a detailed analysis of the reasons of the existence of intra industry trade in, through reading the literature, we find out the influence of intra industry trade: per capita income level, the product difference and the foreign direct investment, introducing into the trade gravity model, on various influencing factors empirical analysis to determine the size of the impact of various factors.At the end of this paper, according to the results of empirical research and Analysis on the reasons, put forward expand the size of the market, bring the scale economy; actively promote bilateral mutual direct investment; synchronous export product structure and industrial structure adjustment; play the government’s regulation and control means, to create a free and transparent investment environment; enterprises should pay attention to and strengthen product differentiation creation, vigorously develop the advanced industry and also encourage domestic has comparative advantage in the industry to go abroad, to strengthen cooperation and reasonable policies and suggestions.
