China’s total food output has achieved increase in a row since 2004 successfully. But China still needs to rely on the external supply of stocks that imported food for a long time to meet the domestic food supply and demand gap. It is obvious that food as the national important strategic materials. There is more consideration in the process of the food trade. It is not only to measure which is stable and sustainable just in the trade process, more fundamental is the safety of its imports of grain imports a large number of input will affect the country’s food security. So this article will combine imports of food and food security, and on the basis of related literature theory. In rice, wheat, corn and soybean as the research object, to analyze the existent problems of food imports in our country at present especially the food supply outside the market overall dependency on the influence of food security in China.Through combine a series of data like China’s grain production, consumption and trade data between 2003 and 2015. In order to prove that China’s food output increasing continuously, but the demand for food also rise. But the gap of the food supply and demand is always here, of which the most is the gap of soybean supply and demand. So by imported food has become an indispensable as well as one of the important supplement way to fill the domestic gap of supply and demand.Compared with a small amount of exports, China’s food imports is larger. And the food as the unique political and strategic attribute of special goods, the supply and demand of food also has a special risk. So the amount of imports and degree, and whether to import dependence is related to a country’s food security problem. A moderate amount of imports is conducive to the stability of our country food security, while the excessive imports will has adverse effects to our country food security. So in the empirical part, this study has analyzed our country imports general situation and the source of import as well as estimated the foreign dependence degree and the food import rate of China’s four major food varieties and the food overall. And this study also has the further analysis of China’s grain imports external dependent on food supplies by using the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index. It also has evaluated the current food security situation, and to measure food imports the specific influence on food security through the external dependence of the current food imports, imports of concentration and potential trade risk. The results has showed that the overall level of food security in China has been in a basic security, for the international food market supply dependence is too high; In terms of external dependency of food, China’s three main food that rice, wheat and corn is now at a reasonable level, the foreign dependence degree is not high. Most of the varieties of imported food as a exchange. And the basic food supply and demand can be balance, so it can meet the requirements of self. And it can be think that have no impact on the overall food security in China. But soybeans has high external dependency, it heavily dependent on external supplies. Once the international soybean market supply capacity has be changed, it will has significantly influence on the feed food use directly. Food overall external dependency is also be the increasing trend due to the mass import of soybean. And it makes the guarantee of food security in China is facing pressure. In import concentration, China’s four major food imported varieties has the high market concentration, and the import transfer ability is poorer. The increasing import dependence has increased the risk of China’s food imports.Through the analysis of the full text, the current foreign dependence degree about rice, wheat and corn and other cereals of our country is lower external dependency, while import source is relatively concentrated. But to be compared with the domestic production and demand that the amount of imports is very small. The import varieties mainly used to be adjust; Soybean imports dependence on abroad, and the too large number of imports will affect domestic the balance of grain varieties structure and the total supply security. But soybeans as the staple food, it can has no influence at the heart of the food security in our country. By using effective avoid import risk and the macroeconomic regulation and control of imports, its influence on food security is limited. The article finally put forward relevant strategies and policy recommendations on food trade and how to safeguard the food security of our country: increasing food trading partners, to expand further import sources; Implementation of the "developmental trade", through the "going out" of agriculture, form overseas stocks supply; To further strengthen trade with food exporter, achieve mutual benefit, to be the collaborative guarantee food security level; Through the support of science and technology to achieve food security level of the sustainable security in our country.
