Taxonomy of Terriera from the southern area of Yangtze river and the genus' s phylogenetics based on two-gene sequences were studied by modern and traditional fungal taxonomic methods,to explore the interspecies and intraspecies relationships of the Terriera.All the specimens were deposited in the Reference Collection of Forest Fungi of Anhui Agricultural University,China(AAUF).The following three parts are included in this research.Firstly,Specimens of Terriera from the southern area of Yangtze river were examined and classified based on their morphological features,internal structure characteristics,host range,habits as well as distributions.7 species of Terriera and 1 species of Lophodermium were studied,i.e.Terriera aequabilis,T.camelliae,T.coacervata,Lophodermium euryae,Terriera minor,T.huangshanensis,T.simplex and T.transversa.Among them,Terriera aequabilis and T.transversa were identified as two new species.Brief bilingual descriptions and illustrations were also given for the new species.Secondly,some fungi of Terriera,collected from the south of the Yangtze river region,were isolated,purified and incubated in the MA,OA and PDA cultural media,and regular observations and records were made every 7 days.The results showed that different cultural media had different cultural characters.In comparison,MA medium is the more suitable for the growth of Terriera,compared to PDA media,and OA is the most inappropriate media to culture Terriera.Thirdly,ITS and 28 S regions of 19 strains of Terriera and some Lophodermium,combined with 3 related ones downloaded from GenBank(22 strains in total),were amplified and squenced by the polymerase chain reaction(PCR).Lirula macrospora was selected as outgroup,then three phylogenetic trees were established based on the sequences of rDNA-ITS,28 S rDNA and ITS+28S rDNA,combined with morphological classification method,classification status of 22 strains were preliminary identied.The strains of Q53-2,Q75 and Q79 were preliminary determined as new species,and Q46 and R51 were regarded as new combinations.In addition,three conclusions were drawn through the analysis of three phylogenetic.First,the three phylogenetic trees showed that the members parasitized conifers and broad-leaved trees were separated into different clades.Second,lip cells can be used as one of standards of Terriera identification.Because strains of Lophodermium that been gotten together with Terriera are all lack of lip cells.Third,intra-species differences in Terriera are affected by host and growth environment.
