As sea ice is a kind of common nature phenomena, it plays an important role for global climate and marine ecosystem in the world. In polar sub-polar zone, there is a lot sea ice, accompanying with wind and wave, sea ice can get a high speed and it will be dangerous to off shore drilling platform, fish farms, ships and so on in that area. With the development of science and technology, the activity on polar presents a rising trend, such as arctic sea lanes and ocean platform. In order to keep these activities safety, it has started a series research on sea ice, such as physic mechanics properties, sea ice dynamics.The way to monitor sea ice includes, the test of sea ice basic mechanics, monitoring sea ice on platform, using unmanned plane and ice breaker to keep track of sea ice. Based on the offshore platform has many advantages, such as lower determinative error, wider range, higher accuracy. It can provide reliable field sea ice data for platform to keep the platform working safety. Since 1990 china had started to develop the oil in Bohai, a monitoring sea ice system has been build in the JZ20-2 platform, through camera, marine radar, satellite to monitor sea ice. Beyond that, there are instruments to record weather, hydrology, load of sea ice and so on.In this study, the sea ice drifting characteristics in the JZ20-2 oil filed was monitored with a marine radar on an offshore platform during a whole winter. The sea ice drifting velocity and directions were obtained with the digital image processing system. With the observed data, the probability density function of sea ice drifting speed and direction were determined, and their joint probability was also analyzed. Moreover, the drifting velocities and trajectories were compared in different weather conditions. This work provided the field monitoring data for the analysis of sea ice dynamics in the oil field of Liaodong Bay.The size of ice floes can be analyzed from satellite images through satellite image system. With the techniques of denoising, binarization algorithms using in the image processing, the parameters of ice floes are extracted in the Bohai Sea. The point on the boundary is picked by database.In order to extract the parameters of sea ice in bohai, and compare this digital images data with radar data to check it whether right or not. This article collects the data of sea ice in JZ20-2. From this 10 years data, the total days when bohai is full with sea ice and the thickness of sea ice is got. At the same time, the parameter of sea ice and the relationship between vibration platform with parameter is discussed. This data will help for the winter production platform security operation.According to 32th antarctic research, sea ice was recorded by a camera in the Snow Dragon, The sea ice intensity were obtained with the digital image processing system. This will be precious data for polar research.
