This research was conducted in Jiangsu province,investigating the diversity of pteridophytes and studying the relationships between pteridophytes and environmental factors in eight samples by field works and specimen identification,revealing the main environmental factors that affect the distribution of pteridophytes in Jiangsu province.The main results were as follows:1.According to the investigation data,124 species were found,belonging to 31 families and 55 genera,dominated by Dryopteridaceae,Thelypteridaceae,Athyriaceae,Polypodiaceae,accounting for 53.28,at the level of families in this area.2.The pteridophyte of the study area had a transitional characteristic from tropical,subtropical,and to the characteristics of the temperate zone,Combined with the R/T value of tropical composition,the results showed that:Mt Qionglong>Shenxika>Mt Longchi>Mt Yuntai>Mt Baohua>Tieshansi>Mt Yunlong.3.By applying the correspondence analysis(DCA),analyzing the distribution patterns of pteridophytes in Jiangsu province.The result showed that the 8 spot could be divided into 3 groups,the division was well correlated to the environments.4.Through the analysis of the study of pteridophytes of typical community and leaf characteristics,the diversity of pteridophytes in Mt Baohua rank first,which showed that the community were of dabble,the others were of xerophytism.5.Redundancy analysis(RDA)was used to analyze the relationship between the environmental factors and pteridophytes and spot,which shows that rainfall,average temperature,canopy density,elevation,human disturbance,sunshine had important impacts on the growth of pteridophytes.6.The niche breadth and the niche overlap of pteridophytes in the study aera were calculated.The results showed that most of pteridophytes with narrow niche breadth,so we must pay more attention to the protection of special habitat.7.A synthetical assessment pattern was established to evaluate its utilizable potentiality value of 117 pteridophytes,habitat demands,regeneration power,frequency,abundance and intensity of utilization were selected as evaluation indexes,Based on this established evaluation method,30 species covering 25.64%of the total number of pteridophytes resources showed the comprehensive utilization index of over 2.0,which indicating that pteridophytes resources has certain development potential.
