The western Norway continental shelf is located in the Arctic region of Norway, because of the abundant oil and gas generationresources in the Arctic region,it is the key area with abundant petroleum resources to be found in the world, and the deepwater oil and gas generation exploration in the continental margin of Norway is also one of the hotspots of exploration in the world.Based on the basic theory of petroleum basin analysis, this paper follows the principles of multidisciplinary integration, inclunding geology, geochemistry, geophysics and so on.Based on the relevant data of oil and gas generation field exploration and development,we carried out resrarch of the regional tectonic sedimentary evolution, oil and gas generation reservoir and basic geological conditions.Using basin simulation software Petromod, with reasonable set of geological parameters, the continental margin basin tectonic evolution and hydrocarbon accumulation process were simulated, and the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The tectonic evolution of the study area is closely related to the cracking of the North Atlantic, and the basin has experienced three rift-depression-heat subsidence evolution cycles, and,in which the Jurassic source rock and the The Upper Cretaceous source rock developed during the rift-cycle is the main source rock of the basin.(2)According to the results of thermal evolution history of two-dimensional profile simulated by the continental shelf of the western Norway:(1)Currently,the Lower Jurassic Are Group source rocks all into the gas generation stage,in which the deeper buried has been in the mature stage of evolution.(2)The Most source rocks of the Upper Jurassic Spekk group are in the oil generation stage, and the deep burial stage is in the mature stage.(3)the Cromer Knoll source rocks in the Cretaceous is in the gas generation stage, and the other regions are in the gas generation stage.(3)In the Voring basin, including two proven Jurassic oil and gas generation systems: First, the Lower Jurassic Bat Group-Middle Jurassic Fangst group sandstone oil and gas generation systems(!),Under the upper storage, and the other is the Upper Jurassic Viking Fromation Spekk group shale-Middle Jurassic Fangst group sandstone oil and gas generation system(!),Which is a typical upper reservoir formation. It is presumed that this system is a potential oil and gas generation system, and it is presumed to be areservoir formation.(4)According to the comprehensive analysis,it is concluded that the oil and gas generationin the secondary basin and Voring secondary basin are migrated to the raised area along the cracks, faults, unconformities and connected sandstone under the action of overpressure and buoyancy leads to thee enrichment into the reservoir,so the Highs in the two basins are the favorable area of exploration.
