This paper introduced the development of the technology of rotary hearthfurnace–electric furnace melting separation at home and abroad.Base on the maturetechnology of rotary hearth furnace equipment and process, All the scholars focusedon that the metallic pellet go through rotary hearth furnace would be used to meltingseparation in electric furnace,After more than ten years of exploration andresearch,Panzhihua steel based on its unique resource advantages finished the firstpilot line of otary hearth furnace-electric furnace melting separation,As a newtechnology of pilot line successfully got rid of the long process production mode ofthe traditional blast furnace equipment vanadium titanium ore processing whichPanzhihua steel relied on many years, the new technology came true multipathpreparation of V-Ti ores,After vanadium titanium ore with coal powder binder forpelletizing, the pellet was pre-reduced in rotary hearth furnace, than adding metallizedpellets into electric furnace for melting separate,Successful completion of the titaniumslag and vanadium iron melting separation,the titanium slag for producted titaniumwhite and the hot vanadium iron were used in steel and extracting vanadium.Tne newtechnology belong to the third generation technology of environmental protection andenergy saving in China will be used to full recovery the vanadium and titanium.The melting separation furnace as core equipment of the whole production linebelong to the first attempt at home.The equipment Completed by Shanxi industrialelectric furnace manufacturing Co,Ltd. The equipment belong to submerged arcfurnace,Furnace capacity was12500kVA, electrode electrode was500mm, electrodecircle diameter was2200mm, the furnace diameter was5000mm, the furnace depthwas2300mm.Since2010, when the melting separation furnace failed to stable operation so far,These problems that existed in the actual operation?(1)“iceberg”phenomenon;(2)furnace safety problems;(3)lining erosion;(4)long smelting time.In this papper the first transform problem was the furnace safety problems and“iceberg” phenomenon which cause by the electrode circle diameter After theparameters of the equipment of the main check calculation and found the theoreticalcalculation of electrode circle diameter is1830mm, the actual parameter is greaterthan the theoretical parameter of370mm, the effect after transforming wassatisfactory.This article proposed for the second transform of the melting separation furnaceaim to thoroughly solve the fundamental problems of the furnace, this paper finallycompleted the design and determination of second modification of the meltingseparation furnace, the furnace capacity still was12500kVA, electrode electrode was600mm, electrode circle diameter was2200mm, the electric furnace rated tappingiron20t,15t leave iron, the furnace diameter was6000mm and match withwater-cooled wall hang slag...
