In this research, a intermediate product, single fatty acid epoxy ester acrylate resin, which was produced by first forming a single fatty acid epoxy ester by the ring-opening esterification reaction between the unsaturated fatty acid and bisphenol A epoxy resin in the presence of catalyst, followed by experiencing the ring-opening esterification reaction with acrylic acid again, was used to synthesis a kind of high performance water-borne hybrid of epoxy ester and acrylate resin by grafting copolymerization with acrylic acid( AA), methyl methacrylate( MMA), butyl acrylate( BA), styrene( ST), butyl methacrylate( BMA) and ethylhexyl acrylate( EHA).The lower viscosity aqueous dispersion with solids content of achieving 40% and smaller size, has better water resistance, corrosion resistance and higher hardness properties, which can be widely used in anti-corrosion primer metal substrate.In order to obtain an intermediate product to meet performance requirements, in the process of open-loop esterification, this paper mainly studied on the kind of epoxy resin and fatty acids, the type of catalyst, reaction temperature and the end of the acid value,ect. Through the continuous experimental exploration, it indicated that the appearance and performance of the intermediate product and the water-based hybrid resin were better when selecting a medium molecular weight epoxy; drying fatty acids were usually selected to sure the aqueous hybrid resin can dry well, two steps ring-opening esterification reactions employed different catalysts for the purpose of finishing the reactions more compoletely, the end acid value was preferably controlled at 8mgKOH/g or less so that aqueous hybrid resin has better water resistance and stability.In the synthesis process of water-borne epoxy-ester acrylic hybrid resin, with the purpose of achieving the index requirement, the issue focused on the several aspects of the dispersion stability, hardness, water resistance, particle size, conversion rate, adhesion, viscosity and so on which were factors influenced the performance of waterborne hybrid resin surrounding the studies. For example, factors that affected the water resistance of the aqueous hybrid resin were the amount of hydrophilic monomer(AA), and the degree of neutralization. For example, factors that affect the water resistance of the aqueous hybrid resin were the amount of hydrophilic monomer(AA), and the degree of neutralization. the amount of initiator, the ratio of epoxy ester and acrylic monomers and so on were the factors influencing the particle size of the aqueous hybrid resin. Studies have shown that water-borne hybrid resin could obtain the smallest particle size and the best water resistance when the degree of neutralization was 100%, the amount of hydrophilic monomer(AA) was 5-6.5%, epoxy-ester / acrylic monomers was 0.8: 1-1.1: 1 and the dosage of initiator was 1.5%-2%. It was found that the viscosity had a greater impact on the solid content, so this study had focused mainly on acid value the amount of chain transfer agent that affected the viscosity, the aqueous hybrid resin could obtain minimum viscosity and have a better appearance and water-soluble when the amount of chain transfer agent was 0.8%-2%.In addition, a kind of better performance waterborne one-coat anticorrosive coatings was prepared by useing self-made water-based epoxy-ester acrylic hybrid resin as the base material, anti-rust paint(rediron oxide, aluminum tripolyphosphate and zinc), fillers(barium sulfate and mica), Consumers foaming agent(Tego foamex 815 N and BYK-028), wetting dispersant and driers Through constantly improving and optimizing formulations, The main conclusions are as follows: pigment volume concentration can affect the corrosion resistance of the coating, the optimum value is 32%; mixing the two defoamers can acquire better defoaming effect,when the amount is 0.25%,the film is more flat and dense. When the amount of the wetting dispersant is 0.8%, resin can achieve better dispersion After a series of performance tests, the water-borne one-coat anticorrosive coatings has good corrosion resistance and water resistance, it's a kind of air dry coating.
