With the development of sheet metal forming technology, the material processing equipment is also need to be more flexible and intelligent. Now servo press has been more and more applied in sheet metal forming field because of its highly flexible and the capability of adjusting speed. Compared with the traditional mechanical press, servo press shows more advantage. This paper show the design and the development of a crank servo press, while the capacitive energy store device is used in combination with the servo system so as to improve the energy efficiency of the servo press.Mechanical presses on the market today have a variety of transmission forms, this paper choose the crank form and do some dynamic and kinematics analysis. The result show that the structure and its movement form of the crank press are simple and the enlargement of force is enough to ensure the processing of the metal sheet.Usually the way to recycle the energy of the servo press is to feedback the energy to the grid or release it via the brake resistor, this paper uses the capacitive energy store device to store and release the energy at the right time. The result show that it is an effective way to reduce the energy. This paper chooses the Siemens S120 control system as the hardware to design and develop the whole control system. Also the capacitive energy store device is an important part of the whole control system, it need to be combined with the S120 control system. The control system now is applied in the 2000 KN crank servo press. This paper analysis the energy flue in different state and the result show that the capacitive energy store device can improve the processing capability of the servo press and the energy efficiency.
