Bell-less top charging device is the currently most widely used in blast furnace. The furnace material distributing devices, including type PW, modified type PW, type BT, type BG and so on, mostly utilize gear system to evenly distribute. These devices are not only complicated but also enormous. The distributing device with spatial linkage mechanism this paper presents is comparatively simple and compact. As a core component, distributing device should satisfy three required properties to assure the normal and reliable operation of blast furnace. First and foremost, the mechanism obtains a reasonable dimension, which means it can get rid of being locked during its operation, at the same time, endure minimum force; secondly, it meets the strength requirements; last but not least, it can be controlled to distribute in a certain form. This paper mainly concentrates on the latter two problems.Spatial linkage mechanisms are made of some rigid links connected by joints. That points on spatial linkage can move in unparallel planes is significantly different from planar linkages. Their compact size, diverse motion and reliable performance make them attractive alternative designs. Meanwhile, the difficulties of research increase along with these properties. Up to now, three methods can be used to solve linkage problems:One is to write an equation consisting of the product of matrices representing each of the links and joints in a kinematic chain set; one is to simulate whole-mechanism movements using a certain kind of software; another is to compute the approximate trajectory using optimization algorithm. This paper describes the process of cooperation between ADAMS and MATLB in detail. The data of linkage kinematic simulation based on ADAMS will be used in MATLAB to gain the governing equation with nonlinear fitting method. This paper also sets up a database based on the previous job to store and query control equation. It is verified theoretically and empirically that the main failure mode of distributing device is fatigue failure because of the combined effect of temperature field and repeated impact load. This paper using FEM to calculate mechanical strength tests whether the device can be reliably operated. Accordingly, dangerous parts will be modified on the basis of the results.
