The vortex tube, which call be used to divide compressed gas flow into a hot and a cool gas flow,with advantages of simple structure and steady work condition etc, has a widely applied foreground in the Nature gas process. A lot of studies have been done to find out the principle of the energy separation in the vortex tube up to now. Recently, with the rapid development of the computational fluid dynamics method, it is used as a new measure to investigate the complex vortex flow in the vortex tube. However, various problems in simulation have not been worked out, such as finding out the turbulent model which is the most suitable for the simulation of the vortex tube lack of systematic contrastive analysis. Besides, the LES model which is fit for the vortex simulation is hardly used in the present literatures, and the influence of parameters on the performance of the vortex tube have scarcely studied in the past.The purpose of this study is to find out the turbulent model which is most suitable for the simulation of the vortex tube and the influence of parameters on the performance of the vortex by combining numerical simulation, and lay a foundation for the further study.Firstly, a 3-D simulation model is set up. Finding out RNG k-?, Realizable k-?, RSM and LES are used respectively to simulate the vortex tube for the first time, with which the flow field, temperature and pressure distribution are obtained. By comparing the simulation results, a most suitable model for the simulation of the vortex tube is LES and RSM simulation.Secondly, an experimental system that is set up to get the influence of parameters on the performance of the vortex tube is comparing with the result of simulation. As a result, the influential trend and optimize value are found out, the extent of the influence is also analyzed, for example inlet pressure, cold flow rate, number of nozzle, the diameter of hot tube and the structure of awl tube have a greater influence on the performance parameters for vortex tube.Also we are finding some differences between the experimental and simulation results are analyzed, the reason is:the inlet temperature is always changing in the actual experiment, but in the simulation is using a constant value.Finally, using the LES and RSM combination model, the article is further discuss with inlet pressure, inlet temperature and cold flow rate of vortex tube operating parameter and nozzle?hot tube and cold hole plane structure parameter the numerical simulation analysis? finding out inlet pressure?cold flow rate?the form of nozzle?the number of nozzle?the length of hot tube?the hot tube of area and the cold hole aperture are the main factors influencing the performance of vortex tube. And founded on the above simulation study, a series of results of optimize parameters are gained by performing the optimize analysis.
