Carbon electrode mainly applied in the production process of ferroalloy, Carbon electrode is made by adding petroleum coke, bitumen mastic as aggregate and bitumen mastic as binder. A series of processes from calcine, crushing, burdening, kneading, molding, roasting to machining is involved. In actual production, to make it better, aggregate and high-temperature bitumen mastic should be evenly mixed, while heated with 180 Celsius degree before kneading is the best choice.During the heating process, traditional resistance heating and oil heating can lead to many unsolved problems and limitations. This paper introduces electromagnetic induction heating technology widely used in enterprise. Issues focus on theoretical analysis and numerical simulations are discussed.(1) The heat system for Carbon Electrode Raw Material is designed, the experiment platform is created for numerical simulation.(2) Numerical simulation and calculation of the electromagnetic and temperature field. It includes model simplification, heating simulation with finite element method, and PDE model for COMSOL analysis. To understand the heating principle theoretically, the distribution of electromagnetic and temperature field is also analyzed.(3) Parameters, such as value of the tank wall, gap value between tank wall and coil, current, frequency and heating time, can affect field distributions very significantly. Different parameter combinations used in simulation lead to different results, data is quantitatively studied with regression analysis. Then we gained excepted data when set the value of the tank wall as 15mm, and the same as the gap value between tank wall and coil. The nonlinear regression equation of temperature in tank about gap value between tank wall and coil is established, which can give help to production practice.
