Vaccinium bracteatum is an evergreen shrub widely distributed in the south of China. Both of its berries and leaves have a high nutritional value. Currently, there are a few reports about the use and the development for Vaccinium bracteatum leaves, Vaccinium bracteatum leaves also have great development and utilization of space. This paper mainly analyzed the consituents of the Vaccinium bracteatum leaves picking in the mountains of nanjing Tangshan, and analyzed the basic ingredient content of ash, crude fiber, total sugar, protein ets, and the main active ingredient content of total phenols and GABA. And development freeze-dried powder of Vaccinium bracteatum leaves, in order to more convenient and effective utilization of Vaccinium bracteatum leaves.By measuring the Vaccinium bracteatum leaf on the different period of the basic material, protein, total sugar, crude fiber, ash content are 1.37?1.21%,0.14?1.40%, 9.11?12.88% and 1.16?1.88%, respectively. The crude fiber and ash content are relatively high, but the protein, total sugar content are relatively low. And, old leaf of crude fiber, ash, total sugar content were higher than fresh leaves. Determination of total phenols showed that Vaccinium bracteatum leaves of vaccinium bracteatum thunb: in the spring and summer, with the increase in the total phenol content in prolonged vaccinium bracteatum thumb (0.72%-1.73%), but the cellulose material is on the increase,combined with the consideration of Vaccinium bracteatum leaves eating taste better season should be 3?4 (total phenol content 1.45%?1.51%).Determination of GABA content in Vaccinium bracteatum leaves by HPLC method, the content of GABA is found with the increase of growth time prolonging and reduce, reached the highest value 26.15 ?g/g around March. The higher GABA content in Vaccinium bracteatum leaves, which laid the foundation for the development of functional products. The research aimed the development of freeze-dried powder of Vaccinium bracteatum leaves. Ultrasound-assisted hot water extraction and static hot water extraction of two kinds of methods for the processing of Vaccinium bracteatum leaves, and the color and active ingredients using former are significantly better than the latter. The total phenols content and GABA content of freeze-dried powder are 5.6%,126.25 ?g/g, respectively.
