Blasting is the most important step of open-pit mining, it direct impacts on the safety benefits and economic benefits of open pit mines. The rate of chunks and tailings is high after blasting in Fushun eastern open pit mine. It is seriously affecting economic in thie mine.Reduce the rate of chunks and tailings is an important issue to be solved in Fushun eastern open pit mine.The background of the paper research is oil shale bench blasting in Fushun eastern surface mine.Use the methods of field research, theoretical analysis, field testsand image processing, research the changes of blasting block under different blasting parameters. To determine the optimal blasting parameters.The results show that in this open pit mine, analysis and forecasting model is the most accurate model for blasting fragmentation prediction. In the process of oil shale bench blasting, consumption of explosives, explosive wave impedance, hole diameter and borehole density coefficient are the larger factors for blasting fragmentation.The best explosives consumption is 0.16-0.175kg/m3, the best explosive wave impedance is 600 Kg · s-1· cm-2, the best way to hole is 120mm aperture, rectangular hole,pitch is 5m, row spacing is 5m. The program has a guiding significance for oil shale in Fushun eastern open pit mine blasting and has a reference for blasting parameters optimization in similar conditions domestic and abroad.
