The steel pipe which was known as industrial blood vessels plays a important role in the national economy.Automatic steel pipe end milling and chamfering machine is one of the indispensable equipment in modern steel pipe production process,and it mainly conduct flatting head,deburring and chamfering etc.,in order to ensure steel pipe finishing quality and process efficiency,the reasonable design of clamping device is an paramount work.The clamping mechanism should accurately clamp and fix pipe to protect no rotation,sliding,displacement and vibration caused by cutting force,inertial force,centrifugal force and gravity force and so on to ensure the movement of cutting tool keep accurate location with cutting trajectory.In this paper,a kind of all new design of the multi-link clamping device is put forward on the basis of summarizing all kinds of classic fixture steel pipe clamping device,and conduct research as following:?1?.Calculate the cutting force?including circumferential force and ending surface force?and elastic deformation of pipe in processing.Then conduct simulation of the clamping force action process using STEP function and the results show that the calculated values and measured values difference is 3.01%? 5%.Therefore,simulation model built in ADAMS is very close to the actual situation.?2?.Create 18 design variables based on ? 76 steel pipe clamping mechanism,and conduct parameterized modeling and optimization design.According to the size of the clamping device overall size propose two optimization programs.Finally chose the program of not change the overall size of clamping mechanism considering the needs of practical production and economic efficiency.The most reasonable parameters of structure makes the cylinder maximal driving force decreased by 36.6% and the average driving force decreased by 19.9%,which greatly reduce the energy consumption.?3?.A series-optimized program is proposed because of diverse steel pipe diameter,and creates DV19 as intermediate design variables to present parameters relationship of pipe diameter according to the practical situation.After optimization,the length of the cylinder connecting link size goes to zero,clamp base connecting link size decreased about 56.7% 66.8%,and its middle rod and the first rod roll into one,causing clamp base connecting link become 2-force link.The maximal driving force was reduced by 36.0% 39.9%,under the same conditions,the energy consumption reduced by 19.0% 23.6%.?4?.Besides,calculation of key length parameterization is conducted to provide a theoretical basis for series clamping mechanism design.And conduct finite element analysis for the calipers,and the results conform to the requirements.
