Similarity theory is a doctrine of explaining all kinds of principle of similarity in the nature and field of engineering.It is the theory that studies of the individual character and commonness,special and general and the relationship between internal contradiction and external condition in the natural phenomena. In the structure model test,only model and prototype maintain similar,the results of prototype structure can be calculated from the model test results.Similarity theory is mainly applied to guiding model test,to determine the similar degree of "model"and"prototype",grade etc.With the development of computer technology,similarity theory not only continues to exist as a theory of physical model experiment,but also further expand its application range and fields.Similaritu theory becomes one of guiding theory in the field of computer simulation.The topic uses AGC hydraulic cylinder of rolling mill as clues,the main contents of the study include three parts:the derivarion and application of similarity theory,the design theory of hydraulic station and analysis of similarity betwee"model"and "prototype".Using ANSYS Fluent software as the platform,it is analyzed and compared that the velocity field of "model"and"prototype",the inference is verified in theory.In this paper,the similarity theory is deduced in detail.The article is based on the generalized similarity theory and fluid similarity theory to do further research and discussion.lt completed the more intuitive parameter conversation table between "model" and"prototype".The designer,only needs to refer to the conversion formula,can complete the test model.To a certain extent,this article provides convenience for model test.The similarity theory in this paper is simple and practical,shortens the cycle of model design,improve design efficiency,reduce the labor intensity of designer.This article has a certain practical significance for universal application of modern similarity thery.
