Shearer is the most extensive coal mining equipment used in the process of coal mining.It is easy to failure in complex conditions.Especially the height adjusting system of shearer, it is an important part of coal mining machine.To a large extent determines the reliability and efficiency of the work, the production capacity of coal mining machine.If the fault occurs, will cause huge economic losses.Designing of a good performance of the height adjusting system of shearer with quickly and reasonably ensure the stability of coal mining machine, improve production efficiency.Therefore, it is essential to find a new approach for the design of short cycle, low cost and high work efficiency.In this paper, a hydraulic shearer height adjusting system is chosen as the research object. Base on the deep analysis of the working principle and the main parameters which have a great effect to the system,the similarity criterion of the hydraulic shearer height adjusting system is deduced by using the dimensional analytical method, having achieved the similarity ratio,minimum hydraulic fluid pressure and minimum force are taken as the target function.Considering constrained boundary condition,take geometry similarity ratio of similar element as the design variables and establish the optimization mathematical model of shearer.The hydraulic shearer height adjusting mechanism is multi-objective optimized through the method of genetic algorithm,to get the optimal solution finally, completing the design of the height adjusting system.Using modeling software Pro/E to establish the height adjusting system model, neutral file of main components are set up by ANSYS software and the rigid and flexible coupling model is created in ADAMS.A hydraulic control circuit by using ADAMS/Hydraulics software,putting the mechanical system and hydraulic system together to analysis of system simulation.The simulation results verifies the feasibility of shearer height model on kinematics and dynamics,introducing a new theory and method for shearer design system.Combining similarity theory with virtual prototype technology not only can be found all kinds of problems in design and operation process were resolved in a timely manner, but also can make the new shearer height adjusting system of innovation based on inheriting the excellent characteristics of the original system, better to improve the design level of standardization and serialization, so the similarity has important practical application value of design theory and virtual prototyping technology into shearer height adjusting system.
